Local Indigenous Artist Dionne Paul and Lindsey Kyoko Adams kicked off National Aboriginal History Month June 1st with a spectacular new pictograph themed crosswalk at Cowrie Street and Trail Avenue intersection in Sechelt on Sunshine Coast BC Canada, which tells the origin story of the shíshálh Nation.
Bees and Flower Crosswalks designed by Lindsey Kyoko Adams
Adams' design is based on the theme of pollination, and features a vibrant depiction of bumblebees and pink dogwood blooms. "I love how colour can enliven a space, and I hope this design reminds people of the beauty and importance of pollinators to our lives and ecosystem." — Lindsey Kyoko Adams
