StreetBondSR™ LEED® Compliant, solar reflective asphalt surfaces, have solar reflective characteristics that reduce Urban Heat Island Effect by minimizing the amount of solar energy absorbed by asphalt pavement surfaces such as parking lots and playgrounds. Reducing Heat Island Effect helps minimize the impact on micro-climate through the use of asphalt hardscape surfacing material with high solar reflectance, and can contribute to project LEED® credits.
Pavement surfaces are a leading cause of Urban Heat Island Effect contributing roughly 30-40% of the urban footprint. Reducing Heat Island Effect lowers energy consumption and can cut air conditioning bills up to 33%.i Not to mention, cooler pavements mean safer more comfortable pavements as well.
Cooler Pavements Mean Safer More Comfortable Pavements
Available in a range of both light and dark colours , asphalt sealcoating StreetBondSR™ can contribute LEED® credits to sustainable construction projects and is an ideal and affordable solution for green hardscape design. StreetBondSR™ can be used on untextured asphalt or as the colour treatment component for StreetPrint – Genuine Stamped Asphalt.
This project has 179 spaces, along with priority stalls and electric car parking, all using colour to delineate the space.
StreetBondSR holds up to the snow clearing army and is providing the colour and non-slip surface that StreetBond provides. Installed by Thermo-Design Inc. in the Montreal region this project took approximately 5 days to layout and install.
Everyone says…. “it looks great, but this Canada… Will it last?” Well, Montreal’s latest indoor soccer facility that was built to LEED standards, and is a great example of StreetBond performing.
