TrafficPatterns Decorative Crosswalk Application

Local Indigenous Artist Dionne Paul and and Lindsey Kyoko Adams, kicked off National Aboriginal History Month June 1st with a spectacular new pictograph themed crosswalk at Cowrie Street and Trail Avenue intersection in Sechelt on Sunshine Coast BC Canada which tells the origin story of the shíshálh Nation.

 

Bees and Flower Crosswalks designed by Lindsey Kyoko Adams

Adams’ design is based on the theme of pollination, and features a vibrant depiction of bumblebees and pink dogwood blooms. “I love how colour can enliven a space, and I hope this design reminds people of the beauty and importance of pollinators to our lives and ecosystem.”  – Lindsey Kyoko Adams

TrafficPatterns® is a design flexible and durable preformed thermoplastic material that is inlaid into imprinted asphalt pavement using StreetHeat® asphalt reheating technology. The process of inlaying TrafficPatterns® into asphalt protects it from wear and ensures that it retains its bold look for years.
