Complete Streets Intersections linking 1A and Griffin Road & Centre Ave Cochrane, Alberta

As part of a major redevelopment in downtown Cochrane, Alberta a major arterial was created to link 1A and Griffin Road through Centre Avenue. The consultant, Urban Systems provided functional planning, design visioning services and contract administration for this project.

HUB Surface Systems worked with the designer and the municipality in selecting the right products for decorative intersection treatment that comprised both enhanced crosswalks and community brand elements. 

Ennis-Flint’s TrafficPatternsXD – Aggregate Reinforced Thermoplastic System was chosen for the crosswalks elements at several intersection locations and DecoMark – Durable Preformed Thermoplastic Pavement Markings was chosen for the town logo feature element in the centre of two major intersections. ULS of Rocky View, Alberta, a manufacturer Accredited Applicator installed these features as well as the soft landscaping for this impressive project.
