Imprinted Crosswalks for York Region Transit Corridor

Going on 6 years of proven performance of Imprinted Crosswalks for York Region Transit Corridor

In 2011 VIVA began using TrafficPatternsXD – Imprinted Crosswalks and Traffic Calming Device Treatments as the enhanced crosswalk treatment of choice along the busy Highway 7 transit corridor. Since then over 30 intersection have been completed along the route that incorporate this highly durable and decorative imprinted asphalt crosswalk solution.

When York Region Transit introduced VIVA in 2005 it was the first rapid transit service of its kind in the GTA.  Viva connects Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Aurora and Newmarket and also links York Region with Toronto and its subway system, GO Transit and the Region of Peel. It operates along major corridors in York Region.

The Highway 7 corridor realizes an ADT in excess of 50,000 vehicles. TrafficPatternsXD imprinted crosswalks for York Region transit corridor – VIVA, continue to prove their durability under high traffic loads and tough winter conditions here north of Toronto. Plans are to continue the use of TrafficPatternsXD over the course of this 10 year transit corridor expansion with more to come in 2017.

Additional to TrafficPatternsXD imprinted crosswalk treatments,  StreetBond150 – Advanced Coating for Asphalt and Concrete are being used successfully for the green priority bike lanes along this busy route.
